What started as an offhanded comment by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has escalated into a full out feud between Kroeger, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and now, Smash Mouth.
Kroeger, when asked about Taylor’s side project Stone Sour, called it “Nickelback-lite”. Taylor then responded in a radio interview, calling Kroeger “an idiot” and saying that he had a “face like a foot”.
“Here’s the deal, I’m sitting there trying to figure out how I was going to handle this, ‘cause it’s so funny. So apparently he was just like a lil’ drunk and he snapped on Stone Sour, dude. Not only Stone Sour, but Slipknot," Taylor said on Arizona’s 98KUPD.

Now, Smash Mouth has entered the ring after someone on Twitter spurred it on, saying, “Really hope @SmashMouth jump into the fray.”
And the “All Star” performers replied, coming out in favour of Taylor’s arguments. “We see what Chad is saying but Slipknot has more than pulled it off. It feels authentic, they nailed it! They're American Icons.”
Kroeger has yet to respond to this new offensive. But he’s probably busy with last minute prep for Nickelback’s Feed the Machine world tour, which kicks off June 23 and hits multiple Canadian cities.
