The Smashing Pumpkins announced on Wednesday they’re bringing Canadian band Metric on the road this summer.
The Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour – the Pumpkins’ first tour in nearly 20 years with original members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha – kicks off July 12 in Arizona.
The band performs Aug. 7 at Montreal’s Bell Centre, Aug. 8 at the Air Canada Centre (without Metric), and Aug. 9 at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ont.
The tour wraps up with shows at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome on Sept. 8 and Edmonton’s Rogers Place on Sept. 9 – both without Metric as supporting act.
On Tuesday, Corgan said a video is coming for the Pumpkins’ upcoming single “Solara” and the band’s new album is “coming soon.”
