Snoop Dogg has made another deal in Canada’s budding cannabis industry.

Trellis, a Toronto-based cannabis inventory management software provider, announced Thursday that the 45-year-old rapper’s venture capital firm, Casa Verde Capital, is leading a $2 million seed round.

“For us, it just elevates the discussion and helps to boost our brand visibility,” Trellis CEO Pranav Sood told The Canadian Press.

Last year, Snoop Dogg signed a three-year deal with Tweed Inc. of Smiths Falls, Ont. that allows the medical marijuana producer to use certain content and brands owned by the rap star’s holding company.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has been an outspoken advocate for marijuana.
