The music of ‘80s band Huey Lewis and the News has inspired a new stage musical, Heart of Rock and Roll.

Broadway veteran Gordon Greenberg will direct the musical, which was written by Jonathan Abrams and based on a story by Greenberg and Tyler Mitchell.

Although the show was announced Thursday, no details have been shared about casting or when and where it will premiere.

Heart of Rock and Roll takes its name from the band’s 1983 hit and will also feature songs like “Hip to Be Square,” “The Power of Love,” “Stuck With You” and “If This is It.”

Huey Lewis and the News earned a Grammy for Best Music Video and an Oscar nomination for “The Power of Love” (from Back to the Future). They released nine studio albums between 1980 and 2010.

There have been successful stage musicals based on the music of ABBA (Mamma Mia!), Green Day (American Idiot), Queen (We Will Rock You) and Carole King (Beautiful).

Lewis, 67, has himself appeared on Broadway as Billy Flynn in Chicago.
