The ashes of Chris Cornell were interred at a Hollywood cemetery on Friday following a memorial that brought out stars like Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro, Perry Farrell, Pharrell Williams, Courtney Love, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.
Cornell died May 17 inside room 1136 of the MGM Grand in Detroit. He was 52.
The private service on Friday opened with the playing of Cornell’s recent song “The Promise.”

Chester Bennington of Linkin Park sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” accompanied by guitar and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello delivered a eulogy.

Mourners included actors Josh Brolin, Christian Bale, James Franco, Jeremy Renner, Brad Pitt, Joe Walsh, Gavin Rossdale, Cornell’s wife Vicky and his three children also attended the outdoor ceremony.

The program included a quote from Cornell: "We are neighbours in a modern world where proximity is relative and the threshold to our hearts moves outside time and space."
Cornell’s final resting place is next to that of Johnny Ramone in the “Garden of Legends” – someone altered the sign to read: “Sound Garden of Legends” – at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
