If the guy cranks up Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” on your first date, you may want to move on.
Researchers at New York University have discovered that the Canadian pop star’s 2015 hit is popular with people who score high on the psychopath scale.
The study, which has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed journal, was presented last week at the Society for Neuroscience conference in Washington, DC.
Other songs that were popular with people with psychopathic personalities include Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and Blackstreet’s “No Diggity.”
At the low end were “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits and “My Sharona” by The Knack – suggested psychopaths are not big fans of retro tunes.
Researchers surveyed 190 NYU psychology students to determine their level of psychopathy and then made them rate various songs on seven-point scale.
