Country artists new and old are being recognized with nominations for the 2020 Grammy Awards.
Tanya Tucker, 61, is up for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song (for “Bring My Flowers Now”) and Best Country Album (for While I’m Livin’). Her 25th studio album was her first in a decade.
Ashley McBryde, who was named New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards last week, earned nominations for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.”
Other nominees include Dan + Shay, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.
Chris Stapleton’s “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy,” featured in Toy Story 4, is in the running for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The award would go to songwriter Randy Newman. Also nominated in the category is “Girl in the Movies” by Dolly Parton, who penned the Dumplin’ track with Linda Perry.
Billy Ray Cyrus shows up on the long list of Grammy nominees this year thanks to his collaboration with rapper Lil Nas X. “Old Time Road” is up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Nominations in 84 categories, recognizing the best in music released between Oct. 1, 2018 and Aug. 31, 2019, were announced Wednesday morning.
The 62nd Grammy Awards, hosted by Alicia Keys, will be broadcast on Jan. 26, 2020.
