After 25 studio albums over 47 years, Tanya Tucker won her first Grammy Awards on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
The 61-year-old country star’s first album in a decade, While I’m Livin’, was named Best Country Album and the single “Bring My Flowers Now” won Best Country Song.
“After almost 50 years in this business, after many dreams … this is the first win,” Tucker said while accepting the Best Country Song award, which she shares with Brandi Carlile, Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth.
“I can’t believe it.”
Returning to the stage to accept Best Country Album, Tucker admitted: “There’s no words to express how I feel right now.”
“Bring My Flowers Now” is also up for Best Country Solo Performance and is nominated in the all-genre Song of the Year category.
Tucker earned her first Grammy nomination in 1973 for “Delta Dawn” and has collected 14 nominations over the years.
Also on Sunday afternoon, Willie Nelson's "Ride Me Back Home" won the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance.
During the live broadcast, "Speechless" by Dan + Shay was named Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
