Taylor Swift got the Super Bowl party started Saturday night with a concert that included her first public performance of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and her first rendition of “Better Man.”
Those were two of 16 songs Swift performed in front of a crowd of about 9,000 people at Super Saturday Night in Houston.
Before launching into a stripped-down version of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” — the song she did with Zayn for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack — the singer told the crowd: "I don't want you to think Zayn is going to come out, because he's definitely not. The only one you have here is me, I'm so sorry.”
Swift also did “Better Man,” a track she wrote for country act Little Big Town, right after “This Is What You Came For,” which she wrote with Calvin Harris.
Honouring the football weekend, Swift performed her 2008 hit “You Belong With Me.”
“I wrote a song when I was 16 that features, like, cheer captains and bleachers, and I don't know, I felt like it might be appropriate to play tonight,” she said.
Swift went through all her hits, including “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “Bad Blood.”
The concert ended with “Shake It Off.”
Swift told the crowd they were on hand for “100 per cent of my tour dates for the year” because it was likely the only live show she will do in 2017.
