Taylor Swift has dashed fans’ hopes that she will be following-up on folklore and evermore with an album titled woodvale.
In an interview that aired Monday on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Swift said woodvale was simply a “fake code name” for folklore that was accidentally left printed on the folklore cover.
Fans have speculated that woodvale was another album after spotting the word in the top right corner of the folklore cover.
The singer explained she wanted to see how the words folklore and woodvale looked and “then decided I don’t actually want to have a title on the album covers – and we forgot to take the fake code name off of one of them."
Swift added: “I tend to be sort of annoyingly secret-agent-y about dropping clues and hints and easter eggs. It’s very annoying but it’s fun for fans and it’s fun for me, because they like to pick up on things, and they’ll notice lots of things in music videos or photos or whatever. And then sometimes I take it too far and I make a mistake.”
Last Friday, Swift dropped evermore, which she described as the "sister record" to folklore. She assured fans there is no trilogy.
“I’m so tired. I’m just so exhausted," she quipped. "I’ve tired myself out, I have nothing left.”
