Taylor Swift announced Thursday that she is helping tornado relief efforts in Tennessee.
“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,” the singer shared on Instagram Live.
“I’ve made a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund.”
Swift encouraged her fans to do the same.
A spokesperson for the Fund said Swift gave $1 million U.S. She gave the same amount to flood relief efforts in Louisiana in 2016.
Tornadoes touched down in and around Nashville in the early morning hours of March 3, causing widespread damage and killing at least 24 people.
Swift, who has a penthouse condo in the city, tweeted: “My heart is with everyone in Tennessee who has been affected by the tornados. Sending you my love and prayers.”
Other artists who took to social media with reactions to the tornadoes include Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay (who pledged $100,000 U.S.), Kelsea Ballerini, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen and Canada’s Brett Kissel and Madeline Merlo.
