It seems like no matter what is going on in her professional or personal life, the one thing that remains constant for Taylor Swift is her close relationship with her fans -- her loyal Swifties.
Swift has been there for her fans in a number of ways, from sending gifts to their homes, to giving advice on social media, to making unsolicited donations -- like in the case of fan Katie Beth Carter, who was tragically killed at 18 in a horrible car accident during Labour Day weekend this year.
Following the accident, Swift donated $5,000 to a GoFundMe page that was created to not only help remember Carter, but to help with funeral costs. Carter's sister Kimi and her family recently opened up to Billboard about the experience and Swift's donation.
Fans online had led the singer to the page, on which she left a touching note. It read: "Kimi, No words could express how sorry I am for your loss. I know that you will keep Katie's memory alive. Please know how much I am thinking of you and saying a prayer for your family. All My Love, Taylor."
When Kimi noticed the generous donation, she posted a screen shot to Instagram, writing, "this... I cannot believe this at all ... thank you so much, Taylor ... me and my sister are smiling so hard."
"Somehow, Taylor Swift reached out to me exactly when I needed it the most," Kimi told Billboard. "I felt more at peace. Katie was up there, pulling strings for me, trying to make this a little easier to get through."
Mom Amy also commented on Swift's act of kindness. "We’ve all learned to love Taylor’s music through the years. Our daughter was known as 'Kind Katie.' And with a small gesture to a family she had never met, Taylor Swift demonstrated that same kindness. It’s the act of reaching out to someone in their darkest hour and saying, 'I'm thinking of you.'
"There’s so much power in a random act of kindness."
