Taylor Swift continues to pay it forward this holiday season, sending $26,000 U.S. to two mothers struggling to pay bills during the pandemic.
“I’m sending you this gift after reading about you in the Washington Post,” Swift wrote to Shelbie Selewski of Michigan, who told the newspaper about losing her job because she had to stay home to care for her daughter who was born with a collapsed lung.
Swift, who added $13,000 U.S. to Selweski’s GoFundMe campaign, wrote: “No one should have to feel the kind of stress that’s been put on you. I hope you and your beautiful family have a great holiday season. Love, Taylor.”
The pop star contributed the same amount to Nikki Cornwell of Nashville, who appealed for help for her family on GoFundMe.
Swift wrote: “Nikki, I read about you in the Washington Post and thought it was really brave of you to share your story. I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to go through this year and wanted to send you this gift, from one Nashville girl to another. Love, Taylor.”
Swift is known for being generous with fans and others in need. In August, she gave about $40,500 to a British teen trying to pay for college.
