With having the #1 movie in the world, the #1 song on the U.S. Hot 100 and the attention of the cameras at every Kansas City Chiefs game, Taylor Swift is perhaps more ubiquitous than ever before. She is also now a pumpkin.
Jeanette Paras of Dublin, Ohio has turned the world's biggest star into a 399-pound pumpkin she calls, Taylor SwiftKin. The avid pumpkin decorator has been gussying up celebrity pumpkins at Halloween for the past 35 years and what better face to paint on a giant gourd than the most famous one on Earth.
Paras told NBC's WCMH affiliate that she modeled TSwiftKin after the star's look at this year's Grammy outfit, "bejeweled" with oversized diamond earrings. She says it required nine wigs and sweet potatoes as ears to get it right. By its side is an official NFL football dedicated to Swift's current beau, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“With so much going on in the news today, much of it disturbing, Taylor SwiftKin stood out," Paras tells WCMH. "I considered ‘pumpkinizing’ others, but Taylor is a bright star in today’s pop culture. And then, when she was romantically linked to two-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, that certainly made her more interesting. As I like to say, I don’t make the news, I pumpkinize it.”
The goal with decorating the pumpkins is to help raise awareness and research money for breast cancer, which Paras has survived twice. She has partnered up with the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, encouraging fans of her pumpkins to make a donation, which she will match dollar for dollar for the first $2,500.
“I’m hoping that the attention that my displays get, will encourage and create awareness for women,” Paras says.
Paras isn't the only one using Taylor Swift as inspiration this Halloween. A house in Toronto has recreated the now famous scene of Swift cheering on Kelce at Chiefs-Bears game back on September 24. Only, they're both skeletons.
