Taylor Swift’s mother Andrea took the stand in a Denver courtroom on Wednesday to tell a jury that David Mueller sexually assaulted her famous daughter.
“Right there,” she said, pointing to the former radio announcer, according to coverage of the trial. “That guy.”
Mueller is accused of putting his hand on Swift’s buttocks while posing for a picture with her at a backstage meet-and-greet in 2013.
Mueller lost his job following the alleged incident, prompting him to sue Swift for at least $3 million U.S.
Swift countersued for sexual assault and is seeking a symbolic $1.
As the trial got underway on Tuesday, Mueller’s lawyer said inappropriate touching is “wrong and should never be tolerated.” But, Gabriel McFarland said, so to is falsely accusing someone of inappropriate touching.
On Wednesday, the pop star’s mother — who is part of her management team — said Mueller’s alleged groping “absolutely shattered our trust” and left her “feeling like I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time.”
Earlier in the day, Mueller testified about the “awkward” photo.
“I know my hand was touching her rib or her skirt," he said. "And it went behind her, and her hand, or arm, went behind my arm.”
The trial is expected to continue for another week.
