Taylor Swift got some good news ahead of the launch of her world tour: Reputation has become the first album released in the last two years to sell 2 million copies in the U.S.
The album, released in November 2017, topped 2 million in sales this week. Reputation is Swift’s sixth album to reach the milestone.
More than 1.2 million copies of the album were sold in the first week of release.
The last album to hit 2 million in sales was Adele’s 25 in 2015. It went on to sell a whopping 9.45 million copies.
Last year, only two albums – Reputation and Ed Sheeran’s Divide – sold at least a million copies.
Swift kicks off her Reputation tour on May 8. It comes to Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Aug. 3 and 4.
