A man who pleaded guilty to sending threatening letters and emails to Taylor Swift’s former record label has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Eric Swarbrick pleaded guilty last year to sending more than 40 letters and emails to Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) in 2018 asking to be introduced to the pop star. The letters became more threatening over time.
Swarbrick expressed a desire to rape and kill Swift and vowed to kill himself in front of BMLG’s CEO and staff.

On Wednesday, a judge in Nashville approved the 30-month prison sentence and three years of supervised release.
Swift left BMLG in 2018 after 12 years. In June 2019 she publicly attacked the company for selling the rights to her first six albums to Scott “Scooter” Braun’s Ithaca Holdings.
