Taylor Swift talks about the importance of owning her music in the new issue of British Vogue.
In a conversation with famed composer Andrew Lloyd Weber, with whom she penned “Beautiful Ghosts” for the Cats movie, Swift said it’s key to have “ownership over what you do and make.
“Even if you aren’t a natural writer, you should try to involve yourself in the messages you’re sending.”
Swift has been in a war of words with her former label and its new owner Scott “Scooter” Braun over the rights to her early songs.
The singer, who turns 30 this month, appears on the cover of the January 2020 issue of British Vogue wearing a tweed Chanel jacket from the Métiers d’art Paris-New York 2005/2006 collection.
“As I get older,” she said, “I’m learning that wisdom is learning how dumb you are compared to how much you are going to know.”
