Taylor Swift’s new album folklore had the biggest first week than any album since… Taylor Swift’s previous album Lover.
folklore, which was released on July 24, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the album earned 846,000 equivalent album units (compiled using physical album sales and streams), only slightly less than Lover last year.
It is Swift’s seventh No. 1 album.
She also becomes the first artist ever to have an album and a song ("cardigan") debut at No. 1 in the same week.
