A teenager’s portfolio containing over 300 unseen photos of the Beatles’ first U.S. concerts from 1964 has sold for $455,000 at auction in Merseyside, England.

Mike Mitchell, who was 18 years old at the time, captured the legendary band’s performances in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Mitchell was reportedly inspired to photograph the group after seeing their performance on The Ed Sullivan Show.

“I was very motivated to come up with stuff that was as unique as could possibly be,” Mitchell said in a statement.

A total of 413 negatives were sold at auction, of which only 46 had been seen before, according to The Guardian.
