Tegan and Sara are hoping warmer temperatures will slow or stop the spread of COVID-19. The Canadian pop duo announced Wednesday they are heading out on tour.
“We are proceeding optimistically with our planning but acknowledge that we will watch the developing situation with COVID-19 closely and heed all recommendations about social gatherings as the tour approaches,” the Calgary-born twins said, in an email.
The first leg of the 40-show Tonight We're Seeing Colors Tour runs from May 18 to June 6 followed by shows from July 30 to Sept. 2. There are stops, with opening act Ider, at Toronto’s Rebel on Aug. 13 and Montreal’s MTELUS on Aug. 14.
Tickets go on sale March 13 at 10 a.m. A dollar from every ticket sold will support the pair’s eponymous foundation.
Tegan and Sara are hoping to discourage scalpers and secondary ticket sellers by not having any pre-sales, limiting purchases to four tickets per person, and not making the tickets available until two weeks prior to each show.
