The Beaches can't stop, won't stop winning awards.
After taking home Group of the Year at this year's Juno Awards and Artist of the Year honours by Women In Music Canada Honours, the Toronto alt-rockers have received the inaugural Group of the Year award from Billboard Canada.
iHeartRadio and Billboard Canada Women in Music presented a special intimate live acoustic performance with The Beaches yesterday (June 5) where the band played three songs from last year's Blame My Ex album: "Shower Bear," "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Paranoid" and current hit "Blame Brett."
iHeartRadio Canada's own Shannon Burns hosted the event and held a Q&A with the band after the set.
The Beaches were then presented with the gong by Billboard Canada CEO Amanda Dorenberg and CCO Elizabeth Crisante. Billboard Canada also took the opportunity to announce it will be hosting the Billboard Canada Women in Music celebration on September 7 that will recognize more Canadian artists for their artistry and for "blazing trails as women in the industry."
