The Beaches have been announced as Artist of the Year by Women In Music Canada Honours.
The second annual event took place in Toronto last night (March 5), celebrating Canadian innovators and creators who have had outstanding success in their field this past year. The WIM Canada Summit follows on March 6 and 7, featuring speaker sessions, workshops and networking opportunities.
As Artist of the Year, The Beaches are recognized as "an artist whose music demonstrates excellence with an exceptional year as a result of radio chart successes, media exposure, industry recognition, and/or touring success."
The band released their second studio album, Blame My Ex, last September. Most recently they appeared as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month.
Charlotte Cardin took home the Artist of the Year in 2023, the inaugural year of WIMC.
Other artists recognized for their work in 2024 include Maylee Todd for International Achievement Leader of the Year, Ayo Leliani (aka Witch Prophet) for the Rising Leader Award, and Melissa Langley (aka DJ MelBoogie) for Career Achievement Honours.
