Prom will forever be a memorable moment for students of Huntley High School in Illinois, who were surprised with a special performance from The Chainsmokers.
On Saturday, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall changed the meaning of prom band when they hit the stage around 7 pm to perform "Closer," and, let's just say, it was a number that kept the school principal tight-lipped.
"About two weeks ago I got this random phone call that I happened to answer, and on the other end this person said 'This is going to be the strangest call you've ever received, but one of your students actually sent an email to the manager of the band,'" principal Scott Rowe told the Daily Herald, calling the set "the toughest secret [he's] ever kept."
However, The Chainsmokers' impromptu number wasn't entirely random.

They were scheduled to perform at the Allstate Arena across the street that same night, so they decided to double-up on gigs and play a 10-minute set before heading to their Saturday night show.
Oh, and if you're hoping that The Chainsmokers crash your prom, you're in luck. "Your prom could be next," the pair tweeted after the surprise.
