The Chainsmokers’ hit song “Paris” has been given the visual treatment. The music video came out yesterday (Feb. 17), and strangely doesn’t feature any scenes in the French capital.
Instead, the EDM duo – Drew McTaggart and Alex Pall – are seen looking non-chalant in a Los Angeles field while nearby, a house takes off from the ground à la Pixar’s Up! and floats away. Inside the house is Victoria’s Secret angel Martha Hunt, who leaps out of the window and falls from a great height, only to land back in bed.
The video was directed by Mister Whitmore, who has also done music videos for Dillon Francis, MØ, and Snakehips. “Paris was so much fun to film! Thank U @TheChainsmokers for this opportunity that completely pushed my limits!” Hunt shared on Twitter.
Calling it their “favourite video we’ve ever done”, the electronic musicians also revealed on Twitter that “the video perfectly captures the essence of the song visually and we hope it brings new meaning to the message behind the song.”
The duo also achieved a chart milestone yesterday as their duet with Halsey, “Closer”, tied Aviici’s “Wake Me Up!” for most weeks at no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The DJ pair are currently touring in Europe.
