The Cure will finally release new music this Friday, September 26 after more than a 16-year wait.

A brand new song titled “Alone,” has been announced along with a snippet, marking their first original single since the release of the band's last album, 2008's 4:13 Dream

Billboards for "Alone" have been popping up around the world over the past week, including one in Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square.

The long-running goth-pop group have been teasing new music for years, but recently confirmed something written in stone after mailing out postcards to fan club members with an apparent album title, Songs of a Lost World, with a set of Roman numerals that when translated reveal a release date of November 1, 2024.

During The Cure's Shows of a Lost World Tour last year, the band kicked off their sets with "Alone," while also playing new songs “Endsong,” “Another Happy Birthday,” “A Fragile Thing,” “And Nothing Is Forever,” and “I Can Never Say Goodbye,” which some expect to be on the new album.
