Pamela Hutchinson of the R&B group The Emotions died Friday at 61.
“Pam succumbed to health challenges that she’d been battling for several years,” read a message on the trio’s Facebook page. “Now our beautiful sister will sing among the angels in heaven in perfect peace.”
The Emotions won a Grammy and an American Music Award in 1978 for their hit “Best of My Love” and collaborated with Earth, Wind & Fire on “Boogie Wonderland” in 1979.
Hutchinson was the youngest of four sisters who were part of The Emotions during their history (she replaced Jeanette). She appeared on only one of the group's nine studio albums.
“A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered,” read the Facebook tribute.
