Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless was bitten by a bat while performing on stage in Seville, Spain on Wednesday night (May 29).
Opening for AC/DC, the NYC rockers were in between songs when frontwoman Momsen noticed a bat sitting on her thigh. “You guys are pointing at something, and I don’t know what you’re seeing,” Momsen is heard saying on a video posted by the band, “There’s a f**king flying bat on my leg right now! Can someone help me please?”
Momsen then let out a loud shriek, adding, “I must really be a witch!” A fitting prelude to the next song they were set to play, "Witches Burn."
Luckily for Momsen, members of her road crew were quick to help Momsen remove the bat from her leg. The mammal then quickly flew off, but not without getting a taste of Momsen's blood.
Momsen posted about the incident on the band's socials, writing, "So…ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT…in Sevilla Wednesday during “Witches Burn” of all songs… a BAT 🦇 🦇 flew onto me and clung to my leg…in the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing…he was cute, but yes he bit me…so rabies shots for the next two weeks 😖😖😖 thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning…more footage to come…that’s one for the books!!!!"
Of course, when it comes to rock'n'roll and bats, it's usually the bats that are being bitten. Nice to see they're finally getting their revenge.
