The Rolling Stones aren't done yet! The legendary rockers have announced that they will release their 24th album, Hackney Diamonds, on October 20.
Produced by Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus), the new album was made between at the end of 2022 and mid-2023. It marks their first new full-length, studio recording since 2005's A Bigger Bang and will feature Lady Gaga on a song titled “Sweet Sound of Heaven.”
Earlier today (September 6), surviving members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood spoke to Jimmy Fallon for a livestream event at the Hackney Empire to discuss the album and present the first single, "Angry," and its music video starring Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney.
About the album, Jagger said, “I don’t want to be big-headed but we wouldn’t have put this album out if we hadn’t really liked it. We said we had to make a record we really love ourselves. We are quite pleased."
The band also confirmed that late drummer Charlie Watts wrote two songs on the album. “Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different – he’s number four, he’s missing,” added Richards. “Of course he’s missed, incredibly. But thanks to Charlie Watts we have Steve Jordan – his recommendation, that if anything should happen to him, he’s your man.”
