The Tragically Hip have announced an official anthology titled This Is Our Life, which they describe as the "definitive account of their incredible journey."
The deluxe hand-crafted book comes in a record boxed set that is limited to only 1,000 numbered and signed copies. A standard edition of the book will also be available for sale.
Published by Genesis Publications, the book offers commentary from the band along with career-spanning photography that offers "a visual chronicle of The Hip's evolution, on and off the stage." According to the press release, "the band has opened their archives for the first time, revealing a trove of rare and previously unpublished material."
This Is Our Life draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with the band as well as with fellow musicians, producers, and the dedicated crew that played part of The Hip's story.
Each copy of the limited boxed set will be individually numbered and hand-signed by surviving members Rob Baker, Johnny Fay, Paul Langlois and Gord Sinclair.
"From the most iconic shots taken of the band to unseen rarities and outtakes, This Is Our Life features more than 300 pages of photographs many drawn from the group's personal collections," the press release reads. "Captured on stage, on the road, and in the recording studio, the making of all The Hip's albums are covered extensively."
Pre-orders for the boxed set get a discounted rate of $565 (CAD) and can be purchased here. The standard edition can be ordered at The Hip's official store here.
