Janice Freeman, a Season 13 contestant on The Voice, died Saturday at the age of 33 of an apparent blood clot.
According to reports, the singer stopped breathing while at her home in Pasadena, California. Her husband performed CPR until paramedics arrived but Freeman was pronounced dead at hospital.
Freeman had a history of health issues, including cervical cancer, lupus and meningitis.
Freeman joined Miley Cyrus’ team on The Voice in 2017 with a rendition of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” and made it to the Top 11 with her version of “Woman” by Etta James.
On social media, former The Voice coach Jennifer Hudson called Freeman “a blessing and inspiration.”
Just last November, Season 1 singer Beverly McClellan died of cancer. She was 49.
