A trio of Canadians have earned nominations for the 2017 BET Awards.
The Weeknd is in the running for Best Male R&P/Pop Artist against Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Trey Songs and Usher.
Drake is nominated in the Best Male Hip-Hop Artists category with Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, Future, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar.
The Weeknd’s “Starboy” and Drake’s “Fake Love” are competing in the Viewers Choice category against tracks by Mars, Migos, Beyoncé and Rae Sremmurd feat. Gucci Mane.
Video Director of the Year contenders include Toronto's Director X for helming Zayn Malik’s “Like I Would.”
Overall, Beyoncé leads the list of BET Awards nominees with seven, followed by Mars with five. Chance the Rapper, Solange and Migos are tied with four apiece.
