The Weeknd is staking his claim to “Starboy.”

The Canadian singer’s legal team has filed opposition to a pair of trademark applications by Beverly Hills realtor Eymun Talasazan for the name “Starboy.”

The Weeknd’s Starboy album was released in November 2016 and, four months later, Talasazan applied to trademark the name for “entertainment services, namely production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of drama.”

On October 18, 2017, Talasazan applied to trademark “Starboy” for “comic books” – only 11 days after The Weeknd announced he partnered with Marvel for a Starboy comic book.
