Oui! Oui! The Weeknd will headline the inaugural Lollapalooza festival in Paris this summer.
Also in the line-up for the July 22-23 weekend at the Hippodrome de Longchamp is Canadian group Walk Off The Earth.
The Weeknd performed at Chicago’s Lollapalooza in 2015.
Other acts at the Paris edition of the fest include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey, DJ Snake, Pixies, and Marshmello.
France is the sixth country to host a Lollapalooza since it was founded in 1991 by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a touring festival. It was an annual event until 1997 and then started again in 2003 (although it was cancelled in 2004 due to poor ticket sales).
Lollapalooza was then only in Chicago until 2010, when the festival expanded to Chile, followed by Brazil in 2012, Argentina in 2014, and Berlin in 2014.
Canadian acts have long been part of the fun. Last year’s Lollapalooza in Chicago featured City and Colour, Alessia Cara, Arkells, and The Strumbellas.
Before The Weeknd hits the Lollapalooza stage, he’ll perform at home — his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour stops in Vancouver on April 25, Toronto on May 26, Ottawa on May 28, Montreal on May 30, and Quebec City on May 31.
