Like every other artist scheduled to be on the road this summer, The Weeknd had to put his After Hours tour on hold due to the COVID-19 – but the pandemic is not stopping him from performing.
The Canadian singer will appear in avatar form in a special augmented-reality concert streaming on TikTok on Aug. 7.
The Weeknd Experience uses 3D renderings and picture-in-picture video to create an immersive broadcast in which users can interact in real time. TikTok said it will be raising funds for the Equal Justice Initiative during the livestream.

The Weeknd Experience will premiere Aug. 7 at 8:30 p.m. ET and will repeat several times in the following days. You can RSVP here.
The Weeknd, in human form, will play Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on June 12 and 13, Edmonton’s Rogers Place on June 15 and Winnipeg’s Bell MTS Place on June 17. He then stops at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on June 27 and 28 (returning on Aug. 31) and Montreal’s Bell Centre on June 30.
