The Who’s Roger Daltrey figures he’ll have to stop singing around his 80th birthday.
“Obviously within the next five years I think my voice will go,” the rock star told Billboard. “Age will get it in the end.”
Daltrey, who is on tour this year, insisted his voice “is still there at the moment.” That’s good news for fans in Canada because The Who’s Moving On! Tour comes to Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Sept. 3 and Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Oct. 21.
“I mean, we're obviously coming to the twilight of our live career, and I'm glad we're getting to do something like this before it's over,” Daltrey said of the tour.
In May, the singer complained about pot-smoking fans at a concert in New York City.
“I gotta tell you, all the ones smoking grass down front here, I’m totally allergic to it,” Daltrey said. When the crowd laughed, he added: “I’m not kidding.
“Whoever it is down there, you f**ed my night and you made me really… I’m allergic to that s**t and my voice just goes [sound]. It sucks up. So f**k you!”
