Someone made off with equipment this week belonging to Canadian ‘80s rock band Honeymoon Suite.
Two guitars and assorted gear were reportedly stolen from a vehicle on the night of Aug. 15-16 in the Fort Erie, Ont. area.
“All the cases are labeled HMS and have bright orange tape on them. The guitars have Johnnie Dee’s phone # and name on them,” reads a message on the band’s Facebook page.
The stolen guitars are a black Squire Telecaster and a black Fender Telecaster.
“We believe this was a targeted theft and somebody knows something,” the group said.
Dee told the Fort Erie Post the gear was taken from his truck while it sat parked for about an hour on his driveway.
“They stole my signature guitar, my backup and all the band’s back line, including mine and [lead guitarist Derry Grehan’s] custom pedal boards, wireless mics — everything we use to work and put on our high impact high energy shows.”
Dee said police are not involved and if the gear is returned, “there will be no questions asked.”
Honeymoon Suite — which had hits like “New Girl Now,” “Wave Babies” and “Feel It Again” — performs in Medicine Hat, AB tonight and is on tour until late October across Canada.
