Thomas Rhett is giving fans a taste of his forthcoming third studio album with his brand new single -- a collaboration with Maren Morris called "Craving You.”
Rhett has been teasing the upbeat song on social media, but the full track is finally here.
"Craving You" was co-produced by Julian Bunetta, who was one of One Direction's main producers and oversaw four of the group's albums, as well as singer/songwriter Dave Barnes, who Rhett explains he was a fan of in high school.
Bunetta's production is apparent in the song, blending the worlds of pop and country together, so the song definitely has the potential to become a crossover hit.
Rhett explained that he actually put the track on hold when he first heard it, and then recorded it many months later.
"It was one of those [songs] that stood the test of time. We didn't cut the record until six or seven months later, and I just remember that one really coming to life in the studio,” he said.
"I just love what the song represents. It's a very, very emotional song about a guy and girl just really wanting to be with each other the moment they part ways, and are basically just obsessed with each other.
“I feel like I can relate to that, and I feel like a lot of people who listen to the song can relate to it as well.”
"Craving You" is the first single off of Rhett’s first album since 2015's Tangled Up.
