Country star Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins announced on Sunday that they are the proud parents of baby girl Ada James.
The couple of five years welcomed their second daughter, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz., just before 10:30 on Saturday night in a Nashville hospital.
Ada is a new sister for Willa Gray, the 21-month-old girl Rhett and Akins recently adopted from Uganda.
“It was truly the most amazing thing I have ever experienced,” Rhett said of the birth, on Instagram. “I can't believe that we have two daughters!! My wife @laur_akins labored almost 36 hours.
“She is by far the strongest human being I have ever met and I have a new found respect for moms around the world.”
Akins gushed on Instagram that Ada is “so stinking cute I just can’t take it.”
She added: ’We are all doing well now, just resting.”
