Three Days Grace debuted a video on Thursday for the brand new track, “Mountain.”
It’s a preview of the Canadian band’s sixth full-length album, Outsider – their first since 2015’s Human – which is out March 9.
The video, directed by Sean Cartwright, was taped at a UFC octagon and includes a cameo by UFC fighter Misha Cirkunov.
Vocalist Matt Walst, guitarist Barry Stock, bassist Brad Walst and drummer Neil Sanderson wrote the songs for Outsider in a converted garage behind Walst’s house two hours outside Toronto and then at Sanderson’s 90-acre farm.
“This is all about taking a step back from life’s madness without destroying yourself, cutting everyone off, or going crazy,” explained Sanderson, in a release. “You get a break and find the space to create.”
Three Days Grace then set up shop at a remote studio in Ontario to record the songs.
“To me, Outsider represents the journey to find your place,” said Walst. “The world feels crazy at times. We try to get away from that every once in a while. We do our own thing, and we’re comfortable doing it. We have always looked forward—and not backwards. That’s an ongoing theme.”
