Timothée Chalamet is currently promoting his latest film, A Complete Unknown, where he portrays Bob Dylan, however, it appears that he still hasn't gotten over playing Troye Sivan in a Saturday Night Live sketch from 2023.
This week the actor appeared on the red carpet for the Paris premiere of the film, where he took photos with fans and signed some autographs.
One fan asked Chalamet to sign their vinyl copy of Troye Sivan's 2023 album, Something to Give Each Other. After posing for a quick photo with the record, he did indeed sign it, but as “Troye Sivan.”
The fan later posted a video of the interaction on X, writing, "did i make timothée chalamet sign my troye sivan's something to give each other vinyl? hell yeah i did." She even included a pic of the signed vinyl, adding, "and YES he indeed wrote troye sivan."
Charges of fraud and forgery aside, Chalamet and Sivan have a history that dates back to the actor's 2023 appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he portrayed the singer as a woman's sleep demon in the hospital.
“I’m an Australian YouTube twink turned indie pop star, and model turned HBO actor Troye Sivan played by an American actor who can’t do an Australian accent,” Chalamet said in the role, in which he also did the viral dance to the song "Got Me Started."
In the sketch, he was later joined by members of Boygenius - Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus - who also impersonated Sivan.
On TikTok, Sivan posted a reaction video, saying, “The only way I can describe this is, it’s like a weird fucking dream. Like imagine… Timothée Chalamet was in my dream, but he was me, and he was wearing my clothes.”
