Tina Turner’s smash hit “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” is getting new life this week thanks to Kygo.
The song, released 36 years ago from Turner’s comeback album Private Dancer, has been remixed by the 28-year-old Norwegian DJ, singer and producer.
“Can't believe I'm releasing a collab with [Tina Turner] this Friday! ‘What's Love Got to Do With It’ is one of my all time favourite songs,” Kygo captioned a pic of himself Photoshopped next to a throwback photo of Turner, on Instagram.
"It feels surreal to get the opportunity to work with such a legendary artist! Can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, has had hits with acts like Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic. Last year, his remix of “Higher Love” gave Whitney Houston her first posthumous hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Turner, 80, is retired and living in Switzerland with her husband of seven years, Erwin Bach. Her final tour was in 2009 and her last studio album was 1999’s Twenty Four Seven. She emerged last November to attend the opening night of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway.
