Toronto Police are investigating a complaint from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) about a music video that appears to threaten violence.
The video for “NYEAH EH” by 6ixreacts, which was shot on the city’s subway system without permission from the TTC, includes lyrics like “two shots to your dome” and “I’ll shoot you in your chin.”
In a statement, the TTC said is condemns the video and its lyrics “in the strongest possible terms.
“The content threatens extreme violence against TTC employees, which is a criminal act. This is completely unacceptable.”
The TTC has appealed to YouTube to remove the video, which has had more than 41,000 views since being posted earlier this month.
“At least once a day TTC employees are assaulted or threatened for simply doing their jobs,” the statement continued. “The courts and police take these matters very seriously, as does the TTC.”
Toronto Police have confirmed an investigation is underway but it is too early to know what charges, if any, the makers of the video could face.
6ixreacts responded on social media that it is a parody act and does not advocate any assault on TTC workers.
