Organizers of Toronto’s annual Field Trip music festival announced Thursday they’re pulling the plug – at least for this year.
“We have made the difficult decision to take some much-needed time off in 2019,” read a statement on social media. “Field Trip will go on hiatus with the goal of returning in 2020.
Launched in 2013, Field Trip has taken place every summer on the grounds of historic Fort York.
Acts that have performed at the festival include Broken Social Scene, Interpol, Gord Downie, Arkells, Alabama Shakes, Robyn and The National.
Last year’s edition was headlined by homegrown act Metric as well as Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
No reason for the cancellation of this year’s festival was provided. “We look forward to seeing you down the line,” read the statement, “after a little bit of time to let the grass grow back.”
