Grammy history was made Sunday when Tracy Young became the first woman to win the Remixed Recording - Non Classical category.
“We made history, ladies,” an emotional Young said as she accepted the award for “I Rise (Tracy Young’s Pride Intro Radio Remix)” by Madonna.
Young had already made history by becoming the first female producer nominated in the category.
“In a male dominated industry, I proudly accept this for all female producers who have been overlooked.”
Previous winners in the category, which debuted in 1998, include Dave Audé, Tiesto, Skrillex and David Guetta.
