Singer-rapper Trey Songz said Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and he urged Americans to take the virus more seriously than their president.
“I’ve always taken it serious, and if you come into contact with COVID, please do the same,” the 35-year-old said in a video message on Instagram. “Don’t be like the president.”
Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, mentioned losing his grandfather earlier this year. “While it wasn’t said that it was COVID, I do believe it was,” he said.
Songz said he is self-quarantining. “I will be in my house until I see a negative sign,” he promised. His new album Back Home is out Friday.
