Troye Sivan is starting 2018 on the right foot with some new music from the looks of his social media presence as well as some suspicious signage around the New York City area.
After announcing plans to release music "very, very soon" via Twitter, the 22-year-old teased what fans believe to be the first word of his comeback track. In the clip, the word "my" flashes about as fast as it can atop a black background. Just a day later, he followed up his initial announcement with another tweet, which showed a Times Square billboard and the hint that something drops in just six days. It'd probably be a good idea to keep your eyes peeled on his social media in the coming days before Friday's announcement.
Now, if you've followed the pop star on his accounts in the last year, you've probably gathered a few notes. First off, he's been recording new tunes with lots and lots of dogs in the studio. Secondly, and probably more importantly, Sivan has tagged super-producers like Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat in the lab. Back in May, Sivan appeased fans during the music drought by dropping a brand-new collaboration with Martin Garrix called "There for You." Even though it didn't really take off on Top 40 airwaves, the track did gain some international love, peaking at the No. 23 spot in his homeland of Australia.
Just a few weeks ago, Sivan celebrated the two-year anniversary of his debut album, Blue Neighbourhood, writing, "Two years today since this ol gal came out. Can’t even explain how much this album means to me n how much it and all of you changed my life."
