Tyla has been forced to cancel her entire upcoming world tour.
The South African-born R&B singer who broke through last year with her hit "Water" says she is currently dealing with an injury that she says has "tragically worsened" over the past year.
In an Instagram post, she expressed her disappointment in having to pull the plug on all of her shows, which were set to begin this month in Oslo, then through Europe for a week before hitting North America for a full tour. The cancelled dates include Coachella, as well as dates this spring in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.
In the note to her "Tygers" she writes, "I've seen doctors and specialists with high hopes out the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation. I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now i won't be able to proceed with the tour."
"In consulting with medical professionals it's become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety," she continues. "Words cannot describe my frustration at this pivotal point in my career."
One positive from this is that Tyla says she hopes to return "safely onstage this summer," so those dates could be rescheduled at some point.
She closes by thanking fans and noting that all tickets will automatically be refunded.
