Usher may not have pulled in a fortune from headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, but he's certainly finding ways to use his performance to add to his income.
On top of his new album, Coming Home, and his forthcoming Past Preset Future Tour, the Atlanta R&B hitmaker is currently developing a drama series based on his music with UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
In a statement he shed some light on the project, saying, “My 30-year catalogue has resonated with so many people no matter where they were in their lives. I’m happy to be working with UCP to bring the music to life. I hope the series resonates with you the way my music continues to.”
According to an official synopsis, the series will take a look at “Black love in Atlanta and individuals looking to find a place to call home. The series will explore music, style, sex, romance and secrets that threaten to tear relationships apart.”
No other details have been revealed, however, having starred in many different film and TV projects, perhaps we will see Mr. Raymond make some kind of cameo at some point.
