In video footage recently posted online, BTS is seen visiting one of Canada’s most popular tourist attractions, Niagara Falls. Well, sort of.
The 32-minute video from South Korean streaming service VLive begins with the seven members of BTS in a hotel suite singing part of “In My Feelings” by Drake.
Then, they travelled to Niagara Falls in a convoy of black SUVs. But, instead of scenes of RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, J-Hope, Suga, and Jin taking in the grandeur of Horseshoe Falls, they’re seen marvelling at the sight of the American Falls across the Niagara River.
“That’s really the world’s top 3 falls,” one of them declares (according to subtitles). Not even close.
They were so impressed by the 110-foot high American Falls – which are downstream from the 167-foot high Horseshoe Falls – the guys posed for pictures.
In fact, it’s not clear from the video if BTS even got a close-up view of the Horseshoe Falls that people come from all over the world to experience.
The video shows the guys discussing the impact of erosion on the falls (they figure they’ll last another 450 years or so) and speculating about whether the rushing water freezes in the winter.
It cuts to BTS having lunch at Ssangkye Braised Chicken House, 155 km north in Thornhill.
Next stop is a FreshCo supermarket 90 km further north in Barrie, where BTS posed for the security camera at the entrance and shopped for pancake mix and Twinkies. Employees and shoppers appear oblivious that they’re in the presence of one of the world’s most famous pop acts.
The video was shot last September when BTS was in Ontario for three concerts at FirstOntario Place.
